Could you please confirm whether the tool codes will expire on April 15, 2026, regardless of activation? Or does the one-year license start from the date of activation, meaning I can keep them until I need to use them? Also, is there any specific deadline by which the codes must be redeemed, or can I hold onto them indefinitely until I'm ready to activate?

Finally, I might not use all of them. Can I share or trade them, or are they associated with me exclusively? I don't want to infringe any T&C, thanks.

Hey Horacio, the one year license starts from date of activation. So if you wait a month to use it, you have a year from that point.

There's no specific expiration date for the codes, so don't worry about that too much, but I can't promise the partners won't leave the bundle at some point, and stop accepting the codes. No plans for that to happen, but it may happen, just to set expectations.

The codes are associated with your specific email address, so you can't share them.

Dear Lenny, I purchased "An Unbelievable Offer" at the first opportunity, but I was traveling, so I didn't have good internet access. When I returned home yesterday, I attempted to apply for Cursor Pro, but the application failed due to some network issues. When I tried to apply again today, it showed that there were no codes left. I find this unacceptable.

The logic of "sold out" should be that when I make a purchase, all codes should be secured and allocated to me, rather than finding out after purchase whether codes are available or not. The deal details state: "Once you become a paid subscriber and get your unique codes, the codes should continue to work for the foreseeable future."

This wording explicitly says that once subscribed, the codes available at that moment would remain accessible, which is clearly not the case here. Therefore, I sincerely hope you can resolve this issue.

I'm really sorry Leon. This is not how I wanted it to go. This is our first time doing a deal of this scale, and we didn't anticipate running out of codes. The announcement received far more attention than we expected, and in particular, the Cursor codes went much faster than we anticipated. We could have done a much better job communicating that products may run out, and the first come first served element. We've learned a lot for future deals like this, and it'll go better next time.

The good news is that you still have access to 9 world-class products, and we'll be adding more products to the bundle that I anticipate you'll be excited about.

If you subscribed to the newsletter simply to get the Cursor deal, let's get you a full refund. Just email suport@lennyrachitsky.com with the email that you subscribed with. Just note that the other 9 codes will deactivate once we refund you.

Sorry again.

Leon's avatar

Can you provide more details about these additional products? Is there a specific timeline for when they'll be added?

I'm also curious whether these new products will be available to all users or specifically to those who couldn't get Cursor codes. Is this intended as compensation for those who missed out on Cursor?

If these additional products will be available to all users anyway, what's the advantage of having purchased the bundle now versus waiting until these new products are actually available?

It would be helpful to understand the value proposition more clearly, especially for those of us who subscribed primarily for Cursor access.

I can't share what the upcoming products will be yet, but every product we add will be (1) world-class, (2) be worth than the yearly newsletter subscription.

They'll be available to all current and new paid subscribers, like the existing bundle, and we'll be much clearer that the codes are limited, and that it's first come first served (since the companies aren't comfortable giving away unlimited free accounts). That being said, we'll try secure more codes with future partners 🤞

If you missed out on Cursor and that's the only reason you want to be a subscriber, email support@lennyrachitsky.com and we'll get you a full refund.

If so, please advice how to change the email so I will be able to redeem all the deals with my b@mail.com because I did not know that was linked the codes to the newsletter email. thanks.

I signed up last night mainly because of the inclusion of Cursor. I've been working until now, so I go to redeem it and now it says no codes remaining? That's not acceptable considering I bought the membership yesterday mainly for Cursor and it wasn't stated it was sold out at that time.

How do I either:

a) Get the Cursor code I signed up for, or

b) Get a full refund?

I absolutely understand, and I'm sorry. We ran through the Cursor codes far faster than we anticipated—we didn't expect to run out of codes tbh. If you signed up only for Cursor, let's get you a full refund. Just email lenny@lennyrachitsky.com. Note that your other 9 codes will deactivate once you get a refund.

FWIW, we plan to add many more incredible tools to the bundle over the coming months.

Hey Lenny - I believe the issue with the codes could have been handled better. I subscribed yesterday, but did not claim my cursor code, and now the codes are sold out. The codes should have been tied to the subscription purchase, meaning every subscriber purchase should have one code assigned to it. This would have prevented issues like folks paying for the subscription and not being able to redeem some of the codes, like the cursor one.

For now, how do I go about getting a refund? While the Bundle is still an incredible value, the main reason I subscribed was Cursor. Therefore, I don't feel like I need the bundle anymore and would like a refund.

I completely agree! And I hope Lenny can sincerely address their flawed decision. Either provide compensation with a one-year Cursor Pro code for early subscribers who didn't get a chance to redeem it, or please offer a full refund.

Hello, I am a new yearly subscriber to Lenny’s Newsletter. I have two questions about the redemption process:

1. When I try to redeem one year for Perplexity, it says my coupon code is invalid. Should I contact Perplexity about this, or can you provide me with a new promo code?

2. When I try to redeem one year for Cursor, if I choose annual billing, it still requires me to pay $172. However, if I choose monthly billing, the total due today becomes zero, and there is a note saying "$20.00 off for 12 months and $0.00 per month until the coupon expires." I’m not sure if I will need to pay for Cursor Pro next month.

1. Email support@lennysnewsletter.com if your code isn't working when you attempt to apply it.

2. Check out lennysbundle.com again and follow the instructions for Cursor. We clarified it.

@Lenny. I sent email to support@lennysnewsletter.com and it is bouncing. I also sent email to help@perplexity.ai but no response.

I sent the email to both of you because my redemption code with

perplexity doesn't work. "This code is invalid."

I have never been a perplexity pro account user with them, but I have paid for an API tokens. I'm not sure if that's an issue, but I'm asking for clarification on this, please, when you have a chance. Thanks.

BTW, I have tried all the ways mentioned in this thread to make it work, but nothing seems to allow me to not get that "invalid" error.

Hello! It only shows the month, and the payment for Cursor will be due for renewal starting May 18. I also purchased a double package, and how can I get the activation codes for the second user?

Expand full comment
zzyphf's avatar

I have emailed [support@lennysnewsletter.com](mailto:support@lennysnewsletter.com) regarding the issues with Cursor and Perplexity. The Lenny’s Newsletter Support team advised me to contact the Perplexity team, as they said the codes are generated on their end.

Accordingly, I sent an email to [help@perplexity.ai](mailto:help@perplexity.ai) on April 18, but I have not received a response yet. I am wondering what the response time is for the Perplexity team. Also, since I purchased the bundle from Lenny’s Newsletter, shouldn’t the Lenny’s team also help resolve this issue by contacting the Perplexity team on my behalf?

In addition to the above issue, I am also having trouble redeeming Notion Plus. I followed the instructions to apply for Notion Plus on April 17 but have not received a response yet.

The main reason I subscribed to Lenny’s Newsletter was that the offer included these three products. I sincerely hope you can help resolve the issues with Perplexity and Notion.

Much appreciated.

As an excellent blogger and KOL with massive influence, this kind of business failure is regrettable. You seem to have failed to estimate your capacity accurately and engaged in overselling, which clearly violates business principles—commercial reputation is finite and cannot be overdrawn.

In fact, this situation could have been completely avoided through proper risk assessment and inventory management. Using "we've never experienced this before" as an excuse reflects serious negligence in your team's business planning and execution. This not only damages the subscriber experience but also harms the credibility and professional image you've built over years.

In the digital product era, code supply chain management is a basic business capability. Shifting the responsibility to users to request refunds, rather than proactively offering alternative solutions, further demonstrates an unprofessional approach to crisis management.

I hope this lesson prompts you to reassess your business processes, because rebuilding trust after it collapses often requires exponentially more effort than maintaining it in the first place.

I subscribed yesterday with the expectation of receiving access to all the products that were being promoted at the time, specifically Cursor, which was the main selling point for me.

I've just noticed that Cursor is no longer part of the bundle, despite it being included when I signed up.

The deal details state: “Once you become a paid subscriber and get your unique codes, the codes should continue to work for the foreseeable future.” This wording explicitly says that once subscribed, the codes available at that moment would remain accessible, which is clearly not the case here.

Even though the bundle still offers great value, I can’t help but feel misled.
